BONE DENSITY · LEAN MASS · PHYSICAL FUNCTION

You can’t feel bone loss. You can measure it.

Spinta Health is building a longitudinal musculoskeletal assessment for women through the menopause transition, especially during periods of rapid weight change, including GLP-1 based treatment. We bring bone density, lean mass, strength and physical function into one view over time.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Three signals, viewed together.

01

Bone density

Clinically appropriate DXA establishes a baseline at the lumbar spine and hip. Repeat scans follow standardized protocols, so real biological change can be told apart from measurement noise.

METHOD
CENTRAL DXA
SITES
LUMBAR SPINE · TOTAL HIP · FEMORAL NECK
OUTPUT
BMD g/cm² · T-SCORE OR Z-SCORE AS APPROPRIATE
COMPARISON
STANDARDIZED · SAME-DEVICE WHEN POSSIBLE

02

Lean mass

DXA body composition gives a regional view of lean mass across the limbs and trunk, context that weight and BMI alone cannot provide.

METHOD
DXA BODY COMPOSITION
REGIONS
APPENDICULAR · TRUNK
OUTPUT
LEAN MASS · ALM · ALMI
COMPARISON
LONGITUDINAL · PROTOCOL-BASED

03

Physical function

Guided measures of strength and lower-body performance show what the body can do, not only what tissue is present.

METHOD
DYNAMOMETRY · STANDARDIZED TASKS · VALIDATED QUESTIONNAIRE
MEASURES
GRIP · CHAIR RISE · PATIENT-REPORTED FUNCTION
OUTPUT
STRENGTH · PERFORMANCE · FUNCTION
COMPARISON
REPEATED · STANDARDIZED

WHY NOW

Two transitions. One unmeasured trajectory.

Bone turnover can accelerate through the menopause transition. At the same time, GLP-1 based therapies can produce substantial weight loss that includes lean tissue04 and may affect bone in some higher-risk women.05

Routine care does not consistently establish a baseline across bone density, lean mass, strength and function, or track how menopause stage, menopause hormone therapy, rate of weight loss, nutrition and resistance training shape those trajectories.

Spinta is building the longitudinal measurement layer that helps women and their clinicians identify meaningful change earlier.

Routine screening begins at 65. Bone loss can accelerate years earlier.

Routine osteoporosis screening begins at 65.01 Earlier screening is recommended for some women with elevated risk.02 But most women receive no longitudinal view of how their bone, muscle and physical function are changing through the menopause transition.03

FOUNDING COHORT

25 MEMBERS · FALL 2026

Help build the midlife musculoskeletal baseline.

Spinta Health is preparing a limited founding program for women navigating the menopause transition, including women experiencing rapid weight change or using GLP-1 based therapies. Participants will help us evaluate the experience, measurement protocol and value of longitudinal musculoskeletal assessment.

PROPOSED PROGRAM COMPONENTS

BASELINE
A structured menopause, fracture-risk and musculoskeletal-health history.
MEASUREMENT
Clinically appropriate DXA and body-composition assessment through a qualified partner, with timing established by the program’s clinical protocol.
FUNCTION
Guided strength and functional-performance assessment using standardized measures.
LONGITUDINAL RECORD
A clear, exportable view of measurements over time that participants can share with their healthcare professionals.
FOLLOW-UP
A protocol-based reassessment schedule designed with qualified clinical advisors.
